TWO RIVERS BOOK FESTIVAL

THE LOW HOUSE, LAXFIELD

“Laxfield is pure Suffolk, on this summer’s day surrounded by fields of corn with its square church tower, All Saints.  And the sun came out as we gathered in the open-sided marquee in the garden of the Low House.  Everything about the Literary Festival was as it should be – food and drink, books, authors, very professional interviewers and an engaged and, I have to say, kindly, audience.  There may be other book festivals, larger book festivals, but none that invite those who come to ‘converse’ with the authors in a better way.  It was a delight to be part of the opening event of this first Laxfield Literary Festival.  I even sold two or three books!  I don’t think I have quite got the hang of promoting my work, but I really like talking with people about it and hearing their stories, too.  Well done Halesworth Bookshop and thanks to Emma, Abbie and Mike.”  – William

NEWS FROM THE BOOK SIGNING AND LAUNCH OF Abraham Soar

“I knew that the offer of champagne and Mel’s nibbles would be irresistible – and it was. Many friends came and some of them bought books! Launching Abraham Soar is the second part of the Suffolk Trilogy, the final part Noah: And Old Fool will be ready later in the year. Anyway, many thanks to Mary and Jonny of the Aldeburgh Bookshop for hosting us and to Mel and her colleagues from the Aldeburgh Cafe for the eats. Thank you to all my friends, especially those that bought the books!. And a huge thanks to my publicist, Sara Green for her unflinching and audacious enthusiasm.” – William
